FC Bayern Munchen – Munich’s Magical Men

Heil to FC Bayern Munchen or it is more famously known worldwide FC Bayern Munich. The team founded way back in 1900 is popularly known as “The Bavarians” as well as “The Reds” in the English language. The German football team plays in the top rungs of the nation’s football leagues. The team is currently ranked second in UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) club ranking.  The team saw its greatest glory in the 1970s under the stewardship of the legendary Franz Beckenbauer. The team won the European cup three times in a row (1974, 1975 and 1976). Wowee!

In the German as well as the European club football league, “the Bavarians’ have left their indelible mark. Their fan following has gone beyond the German shores and won hearts and minds of fans in India (Kashmir to Kerala and Manipur to Mumbai). We at goalsquad salute the team for their hard work, determination and team spirit and their strong will power. They are an inspiration for all those who strive to achieve greater glory, whether in personal or professional spheres. Football is not only a game but a replica of life, with its ups and downs; we can draw many of life’s lessons through a game of soccer.

The successes of FC Bayern Munchen / Munich are too many list out, but here note that they have reached ten UEFA champion league finals, which is quote a remarkable feat in itself. Now is that not a story scripted by magical men? German born Philip Lahm is currently the captain of the ship who is steering it to highs amidst the waves. The Red players hold a special place in the heart of its legions of fans and also in the heart of team goal squad.

Juventus F C – The Heart Throb Of Italian Soccer

Viva Le Zebre ! Viva bianconeri ! For those not familiar with Juventus F C, these are nicknames or pet names for the team. Le Zebre or Zebra refers to the team colours (black and white) as does bianconeri or The white-blacks as the team is known in Italian. The team from La Italia is one of the most popular teams in the world and heart throbs for millions of people world over, not just in the Italian region. The team founded in 1897 is going from strength to strength over the years.

We in India are fans of this great team too. The exploits of legends such as Roberto Bettega, Jose Atlafini and Michael Platini have thrilled generations as far as Calcutta and Goa, the two hubs of soccer in India. We have followed the ups and downs of this great team over the decades through news papers and sports magazines. And now thanks to satellite tv invasion, we can now follow the antics of Captain Buffon and his men first hand, minute by minute. Isn’t technology amazing? Juventus FC is now a part of our lives and our extended family.

With sadness the breaking news for all Juventus F C fans is that their superstar Gianluigi Buffon to retire after 2018 World Cup. With over 500 appearances for Juventus F C since he joined the team in 2001, he has been the backbone of the team. With great sadness we will see him play for just two years and then take a bow on the biggest football stage of the world.  I guess its time for the old order to give away to fresh new blood. We salute Mr Buffon and his contribution to making Juventus a team to be reckoned with.

JuventusFootball Club is the king of kings when it comes to Italian football teams. They have been the most successful team from Italy and one of the most feted ones in the world. They have won 59 official titles – both national and international. Overall they rank 8th in terms of most trophies won by any team. Now how is that for a super star team? The answer is wowee. You agree or not?

Champion Of Champions League

UEFA champions league also known as The champions league is the premier European club football competition held annually. It is a hotly contested tournament in which the premier teams compete to win the blaze of glory. It was first started in 1955 and has grown from strength to strength. The team which has won the trophy the maximum number of times has been the Spanish team of Real Madrid. They have held aloft the prize an unbelievable ten times. Its current holder is another Spanish team – Barcelona F C.

Interestingly, no team has managed to win the trophy back to back since the format was changed way back in 1992. Milan F C was the last team to do was back in 1989-90. For those who are fans of soccer this is the tournament to look out for on an annual basis. The best teams and the world’s best players go head to head. Its fun, it’s exciting and its breath taking. Thanks to satellite TV and mushrooming of so many sports channels, we in India can watch all the matches live of the UEFA Champions League. The world is now truly a global village.

The current trophy is made of silver and weighs a staggering 11 kgs.  It was designed by Jörg Stadelmann, a jeweler from Switzerland. Many of you may know that any team that wins the Champions League three years in a row or five times overall has the  right to keep a full-sized replica of the trophy on an permanent basis. Do you follow the tournament? Do write in with your memories of watching the events. Good memories of anything must be shared so write into us with your fond memories of watching the UEFA Champions League live or with loved ones in front of TV with popcorn and fruit juices.

The top scorer of the tournament down the years has been heart breaker Christiano Ronaldo of Portugal. He has scored a staggering 88 goals in the past 13 years playing for Manchester united and Real Madrid F C.  Close on his heel is Mr Lionel Messi who is next in line with 80 goals. Who knows maybe in the next years he over takes the handsome man of the football industry.

We at goalsquad.com love the game of football and everything associated with it. It’s your own online store for all things associated with the game. So come on over and shop away.

Paris Saint Germain F.C.: Long Live The French

Breaking news my folks: Paris Saint Germain F.C’s nine game winning streak just came to an end in ligue 1 on 1st December. They were held to a 0 – 0 goalless draw by third placed Angers. This must have come as a rude shock to the team which has been on an upward trajectory this entire year. Oh well not every day is a Sunday. And this surely applies for this team which is also known as “Les Parisiens” or “Les Rouge-et-Bleu”. The colours of the team – red, white and blue are borrowed from the French national flag and in its crest is the representation of the most famous of French monuments – The Eiffel tower of Paris.

The relatively new team founded in 1970 as compared to many of its British counterparts is led by Captain Thiago Silva of Brazil. The defender cum captain leads an impressive lineup of world class players such as defender Marquinhos also of Brazil, Vice captain Zlatan Ibrahamovic of Swedish origin, goal keeper Salavatore of Italian mamma mia origin and the one & only defender David Luiz. In fact the current lineup has a Latin American flavour with many of its players from Brazil and Argentina.

Paris Saint Germain F.C has won the UEFA winners’ cup once during the 1995 – 96 season and we hope that they bounce to win more such premier cups down the road. What do you say mon amis? I am sure you and your friends will join us in wishing this fantastic team good luck in the years to come.  The premier French football team is now reaching out to its myriad Indian fans by bringing to our shores 100% authentic football merchandise to our doorsteps. This is your chance to being home a slice of the French pie. Is it not? Read on and discover how.

You can bring home almost life like replica of four of their star players from our series known as ‘soccerstarz’. These stars include David Beckham, Edinson cavani, Thiago silva and last but not the least Zlatan Ibrahamovic. Priced a piece at a cool INR 499 you can start building your collection today. Each of these four stars can be yours with just a few clicks. So what are you waiting for? This is the time to show and lend your support to the team and to France. Viva le France, viva le Paris Saint Germain F.C.
